Female-CENTRIC coaching
RUCK the system
The landscape of women’s sport is changing for the better, but clubs and coaches are still resorting to male-centric coaching methods to coach women and girls. Our bodies are simply considered to be smaller versions of a male body.
At SHM coaching we exclusively focus on designing and delivering coaching for women and girls; taking into acCount the bio-mechanics and physiological aspects of the female body, and the psychological patterns and behaviours of women & girls.
Coaching designed & delivered by women specifically to empower other women & Girls to be the best they can be.

I’m Sarah.
I’ve been playing rugby for 12 years now. I’ve represented clubs at university, through to Championship 1 and county level. I found rugby in my late teens, and it transformed my relationship with my health. I no longer assessed my body on what it looked like, and instead focused on what it was capable of on the pitch.
For the first time in my life I was surrounded by women that embraced difference, and the game emulates that; every position has different responsibilities, as such, each of the individuals have different superpowers.
as a coach, I help girls identify their greatness. I am ambitious for my students, and place an emphasis on giving them the tools to be able to make good decisions on the pitch.
Resilience is often a barrier for girls in sports. girls more than boys are quick to beat themselves up about mistakes, but I create an environment where the girls are able to recover from them and reframe them to their own advantage. Rugby is a game of chaos, and mistakes are going to happen, the focus must be on respond to mistakes and trying to resolve them in the moment, as well as mitigating the risk of them happening moving forwards.
